Taboo--Connection---Inhibition---Loss---God===Motherhood-Fantasy----------Control----Displaced Home---Sex-----Roots

Directed by Judy Cohen

Residency at Mama Calizo's Voice Factory----Jan- May 2008

Performance and Installations: May 15th, 16th and 17th at 8:00pm

Participants: Judy Cohen, Dakota Phoenix, Julie Berlin, Robert Fitch, Edana Contreras, and Ron Jones, with collaboration and community participation from a variety of community members.

The Desire Project is a three-fold exploration of the theme of desire, the process of interdisciplinary collaboration, and investigation into the different ways we approach collaboration.

Emphasis is on the collaborative process and unfolding not only the myriad of human desires (both fulfilled and unfulfilled), as well as exploring the different ways we approach art making. Collaborators in the project include sculptors, painters, poets, video artists and theater makers. The artists are interested in asking questions about desire and not necessarily finding answers but more in generating more questions through the art making process.

Audience members will be invited to actively participate and share in the creative process during the performance.
