About The Class
We all love to sing but only if it’s in the car with the windows up and the radio really loud! Epidemic: An Exploration of the Voice is a weekly series that is designed to bring the joy of singing back to your life. Each session will begin with a crash course in a specific area of the voice moving from vocal technique to rhythm to vocal percussion/beatbox to harmony to musical structures to songwriting/composition and back again.

Vocalstration JamOUT:
The rest of each session will be spent applying these ideas and more in a guided vocal jam using Dwayne Calizo’s Vocalstration technique to build confidence in our vocal ability while having fun with the process. Let’s break the windows together so everyone can hear us sing!

About The Artist
Cody Giannotti/Photon is a Flute Beatboxer, Experimental Musician, Poet, Playwright, and Director. Photon uses live-looping technology to fuse traditional styles of hip-hop, scat and storytelling with elements of funk and jazz to address issues surrounding activism and social change. Cody is classically trained in Bel canto voice method as well as Suzuki piano. He holds an M.F.A. in Performance Activism from the Experimental Performance Institute at New College of California.
